Sandy was my coach my senior year at Iola. I learned alot from her in just the one year of being under her leadership in sports and life. And even in death she still mentors me....the morning she passed I was in surgery to later wake and find that I too have ovarian cancer. Sandy has been on my mind alot lately with fighting a battle that she knew all to well. She was truly a fine lady and I pray to be half the woman she was. So sorry for your loss!

I truly was sorry to hear of Sandy Isbell's passing. Even though I did not know her personally, she sounds like the Isbells in our branch of the tree. I have worked on the Isbell family for a long time, and have known many who came from the Grimes Co. area. My dad was Olan Eugene Isbell, my grandfather was John Craven Isbell and my Great Grandfather was George Franklin Isbell. Your family will be in my prayers during the days ahead. I thank God for all those teachers like Sandy who have influenced our youth with Christian principles. What a blessing! Peggy Isbell Hall

Coach Isbell was one of the strongest "influencers" of my young life. I decided I wanted to also be a coach because of the profound influence she had on my life! I wanted to change young women's lives like she changed mine! She was one very inspirational woman, to say the least! I eventually became a counselor after years of coaching, and it's all because of Coach Isbell! I'll always be grateful for her influence on my life, and I can only hope I've done the same for others! Sandy, I look forward to celebrating with you in heaven! It's going to be a fantastic party!

Isa. 57:15. "For this is what the High and Lofty One says, Who lives forever and whose name is holy: “ I reside in the high and holy place, But also with those crushed and lowly in spirit, To revive the spirit of the lowly And to revive the heart of those being crushed." May the Almighty God comfort and strengthen you to endure this difficult time.

Ms. Sandy was an amazing women of faith. She aided Alaska Missions in fundraising efforts from the ground in Texas. She prayed for our staff and never ceased to take a moment to encourage us in our ministry. She will be missed. A donation was made in her honor to the Texas A&M FCA huddle. We pray the donation is a blessing to all and pray God continues to move through the Texas A&M FCA in a mighty way.

Sandy's dad and my dad were cousins but more like brothers growing up in Iola in the thirties. Sandy and her whole family have always been respected and loved members of the communities wherever they lived. Doesn't surprise me that God has used Sandy's life and service to draw people toward Him and His Son. I'll never forget how she took the time to bring an Aggie quarterback over and introduce him to my 8 year old grandson during an FCA event because she knew how much Chance would enjoy it. She was always thinking of others, even the smallest little ones most people would ignore.

So sad to hear of Sandy's passing. May the Lord comfort her family at this time. We became friends while teaching together at Northwest Academy in Houston during the early '80's. She was a bridesmaid in my wedding in 1984. Sandy was a great teacher and coach who loved what she was called to do. I know that we'll meet again someday in Heaven.
God bless her family and friends.

Sandy was a very classy lady - - who was loving - - very caring -- and wise. We were roommates at an FCA camp one summer - - neither of us knowing that we would be together again in Aggieland a year later. She made an unsolicited call to me one night at home that helped me to stop complaining - - to understand what an opportunity I had -- and helped me understand how much I loved coaching. She was blunt, but kind, fwith her words - - but she challenged me and helped me over a tough time that allowed me to keep going. I always believed that God had his hand in the call that night and that Sandy was my appointed angel. I will never forget her challenge to me and will always be thankful she was there for me.

Ms. Isbell was such a classy lady who accomplished so much in her life here on earth and touched the lives of so many young men and women. She will be deeply missed. Prayers for peace and comfort for her family, friends, all of her former players on her many teams, Fellowship of Christian Athletes members, and countless others who love her. While she now walks with Jesus, her memory will live on in all of our hearts forever.
