Lupe Espino, 97, of Bryan, passed on to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.
A visitation will be held from 5-8 pm, on Friday, July 9th, at Hillier of BRYAN. A Rosary and Funeral Service will begin at 11 am, on Saturday, July 10th, at the funeral home. Graveside services will begin at 1 pm at Mount Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Lupe was born on August 21, 1923, in Houston, Texas, to her parents, Antonio and Dolores Maldonado. She grew up in Bryan, where she loved to go to Cameron, Texas, for dances! Lupe had always been a loving, caring, and fun-loving woman. She enjoyed welcoming everyone into her home. She would always make tamales for any guests of hers! Family and friends were the most important aspect of her life.
Lupe was a very religious woman, a pure and strong catholic. She had a collection of rosaries and many statues of saints. She always said the rosary before bed time, always. And always gave thanks to God for another morning. She was involved in the St. Theresa Guadalupana organization for many years as well. Lupe will be missed by many, but is now happily in the presence of her Lord and Savior.
Lupe will be missed by her children, Margie Neveu and spouse Louis Neveu, John Espino and spouse Rosemary Espino; Dolores Espino Trevino and spouse Thomas Casares; brothers Raymond Maldonado, and Jessee Maldonado; grandchildren, Louis Jr., Michael, Michelle Ann, Nancy, Lisa, Rosendo, Maria, Rachel, Teresa, Rita, Steve, Patricia, Stephanie, Paula, Joe, and JoAnn; and great-grandchildren, 37 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren. Lupe will be missed my many other family members and friends.
Lupe will be reunited with her parents, Antonio and Dolores Maldonado; her husband, Leodoro Espino; her brother Marcelo Maldonado; her children, Joe Espino and Paul Espino; grandson, Paul Espino Jr; and sisters, Petra Saragosa and Mary Moreno.
