Linda Kay Rieck Isakeit, age 64, of College Station, devoted mother of Eric Isakeit, entered into eternal rest July 21, 2018.
Linda was born on February 26, 1954, in Wheeling, WV, to Betty and Frank Rieck. The family moved to Grand Rapids, MI, where Linda went on to earn a nursing degree from Michigan State University. After marrying, she and her family lived in Michigan, California, Arizona, and Australia before coming to College Station.
Linda had a love of flowers and gardening. She used her talents as a nurse when hurricanes struck the gulf coast, providing relief to those in need. She was active in the League of Women Voters, and enjoyed being part of her church family at The Unitarian Universalist Church of the Brazos Valley. Her most important endeavor, however, was to ensure that her son Eric was able to receive a good education, experience and enjoy traveling to new places, develop a love for playing the piano, scouting, and many other life enriching activities.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her son Eric, her brother Larry (Marcia) Rieck of Rockford, MI, her aunt Carole Rieck of Cleveland, OH, nieces Andrea Rieck White of Denver, CO, and Elizabeth Rieck Garlough of Minneapolis, MN, and nephew Charles Rieck of South Bend, IN.
A celebration of Linda’s life will be held Saturday, August 11 at 3 PM at Texas A & M Hillel Center 800 George Bush Dr., College Station, Reverend Aaron Stockwell presiding.
Those who wish, may make a memorial contribution to the Unitarian Universalist Church of the Brazos Valley: PO Box 12372 College Station, TX 77842.
