Tribute

Gladys June (Kirk) Huff peacefully left this earth on January 1, 2022.
June (as she was known by all her friends and family) loved being a wife, mom, Memaw, and great Memaw.

Visitation for June will be January 6 at Hillier Funeral Home in College Station at 10 am. Services will begin at 11 am at the funeral home, with interment to follow at Kurten Cemetery.

June was born to Obie W. and Katie (Jones) Kirk on June 03, 1941 in Hearne, Texas. She married Eugene (Gene) Huff on December 27, 1956.

June is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gene; their three sons, Kirk and wife Kay Huff, Mark and wife Linda Huff all of College Station, and Randall and wife Nancy Huff of Plano; grandchildren, Dustin Huff of Austin, Dylan Huff of Bryan, Christopher and wife Tiffany Huff of College Station, Matthew and wife Lindsay Huff of Austin, Stephen Huff of College Station, Stephanie and husband Ian Bird of Austin, Abigail Huff of Plano, Nicholas Huff of Plano; and great-grandchildren, Lincoln, Charlotte, Beckett and Landry Huff. She is also survived by her brother, Weldon Kirk and wife Edna; and her sister, Kay and husband Howard Watson of Bryan. June was preceded in death by her parents, Obie and Katie Kirk; and her sisters, Juanita Kirk Elliott and Jean Kirk Hafley.

June had a career at the Sears Service Center for 34 years. She finished her career in 2006 as the Manager of the Service Center. She made many lifelong friends and loved her time at Sears. Many customers would seek her out specifically to get assistance with their issues.

Spending time with her Church family from Northview Baptist was important to June. She taught Sunday school and Vacation bible school for many years. June and Gene enjoyed working in the flower beds at the church.

June had a known love for Elvis, gardening and sewing. She loved traveling with her family and friends. Some of her favorite trips were to Hawaii, New York City, San Francisco and Branson. Most of all she cherished time with her family. She especially looked forward to attending as many activities involving her grandchildren as she could…which was a lot. These included band performances, little league, football games and plays. June would also cut her sons' hair for the very high price of 3 kisses and a hug.

June always had a smile on her face and enjoyed life to its fullest. (LU2)

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to Hospice Brazos Valley or Northview Baptist Church on Tabor road in Bryan, Texas.
