Craig Lewis Howington passed away April 6, 2018 at the age of 26.
Craig was born July 15, 1991 in Richmond, Texas. His parents were Ashley (Barnes) & Bill Rodgers and Kevin & Sherry Howington. After graduating from A&M Consolidated High School in 2009, Craig spent some time in college at Blinn and at Montana State University. He recently was able to go back to school in a radiology technician program.
It was after he returned from Montana that he met his longtime girlfriend, Taylor Tolson. The two met in August 2012 at Double Dave’s. They were very close and went on a road trip each summer back to Montana. He became very close to Taylor’s family and was “adopted” as one of them, enjoying a family dinner with them each Sunday. He even went on vacation with them to Grand Cayman.
Craig worked for several years at Ashley Furniture before being able to go back to school to pursue being a radiation technologist. He worked hard to pay off all his debt and got a new car on his own. Once he was back in school, he worked at Target.
Craig was a very caring funny, and warm-hearted man. He was outgoing and never met a stranger. He had a passion for video games, scary movies, and magic. He loved Jurassic Park, dinosaurs, and Pokémon but also enjoyed researching and reading about space and the universe and learning about new things.
Craig leaves behind his longtime girlfriend Taylor Tolson, his mother and step-father Ashley Barnes Rodgers and Bill Rodgers; his father and stepmother Kevin and Sherry Howington; his grandparents George and Garon Barnes; his sister and brother-in-law Heather and James Givens; his sister Crystal Howington; and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. He is reunited with his grandmother Frances Bilbo and grandfather Jesse Howington.
To honor Craig’s life, his family has planned a Celebration Gathering on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 2-4 pm at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan, with a Life Celebration to begin at 4 pm.
