Yessica grew up in Bryan, Texas, with her sister Lorena. She was a studious child and excelled at school. She was loved by her classmates and always helped them when they struggled to understand what was being taught in class. When Yessica graduated from high school she started college at Blinn and planned to attend beauty school at Manuel and Teresa's. She always had a passion for beauty and cosmetology. Her dream was to open her own salon one day and create a line of beauty products with her sister.
Yessica strived to serve with a joyful heart and loved well. She enjoyed her job at Fat Burger because it was a place where she could serve and brighten the days of those around her. She was generous, and on many occasions, paid for the meals of customers who could not. She was a shining light at work and her coworkers adored her.
When Yessica was not at work or studying for school, she loved spending time with her family, friends, and boyfriend, Evan McBroom. Yessica and Evan met at Whataburger two and half years ago and have not been separable since. They spent every day together and talked about their future often. Yessica also loved watching movies, going out to eat with her family and listening to country music.
Yessica was truly a servant at heart. She was selfless and always willing to go the extra mile and it did not matter who it was: family, friend or stranger. If there were a need, she would fill it. Helping others was her passion, even if she did not get recognition for it.
Yessica is preceded in death by her great-grandmothers Ramona Martinez and Carmela Morales.
