Bryan

William (Billy) E. Ryan Jr, 67, of Bryan, passed away August 10, 2022

A dependable, loving, and giving man, Billy’s charisma and sense of humor could win over any room!

Billy grew up in Monmouth County, New Jersey and met Karen when she was 16. They married four years later and spent 37 wonderful years together. Marrying Karen and joining the Army were two of the greatest days in Billy’s life. After the September 11 attacks, he was the Harbor Master in New Jersey and helped with evacuations while comforting people going across the harbor. He received commendation while serving in the Army and retired from military service in 1992.

He loved to help veterans and was the most patriotic man his family has ever known. Billy was a champion of the oppressed, a casual hero, philanthropist, educator, world traveler, Bon vivant, sportsman, and disc jockey. He loved music and had over 200 vinyl records. He enjoyed online poker, darts, and getting kicked off Facebook. He looked forward to holidays and spending time with his family and his extended family at the American Legion and the Elks Club. It was important to him to treat people right, be a good dad, and teach his kids how to outrun the cops.

Billy is preceded in death by his siblings, Michael, Raymond, and Dean Ryan; father, Gerald Dziadzio; grandpa, Dixie Parnell; grandma, Edna Moore; uncle Mike and Mary O’Donald; and Wild Bill Chadwick.

Billy’s memory will be cherished by his survivors, wife Karen Ryan; children, James G. Ryan, Desiree Law, and William E Ryan III; grandchildren, Aislin Ryan and Theo Ryan; mother, Jo Anne Dziadzio; siblings, Isaac Dziadzio, Rebecca Galleger, Wayne Ryan, and JoAnne Koffman; furry grand-babies, Enzo, Zeppo, Maggie, Nala, and Oliver; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great nephews.

Billy’s family would like to acknowledge Legion Riders, American Legion, and Elks Club.
