William August "Bill" Osterholm of College Station, Texas, joined his Savior on Friday, September 20, 2019. He was born in Texas City, Texas on February 14, 1945 to Harrold and Helen Osterholm.
He is survived by his wife of 14 years, Marilyn Matthews Osterholm, his son Michael Blair Matthews and wife Laura of Spring, his son Stephen Matthews and wife Erin of Lake Jackson, grandchildren Lauren and Luke Matthews, and Haedyn and Maebry Matthews, brother Kerry Osterholm and wife June of Navasota and numerous other family members.
Bill attended high school in Texas City, Texas and Salt Lake City, Utah. He then attended The University of Houston, and spent most of his career in the construction and engineering industry. He also served his country as a Sergeant in the Air Force Reserve. He was a Piping Design Engineer for Bechtel and previously a supervisor at Fluor. He worked in the Houston area and spent several years overseas.
Bill (Papa) loved to spend time with his family and followed his grandchildren through their events and milestones. He loved his church where he served as an Elder, Chairman of the Budget and Stewardship Committee, and supported various church activities. He loved to watch Texas Aggie football and was an avid cook and cookbook collector. Everyone who met Bill found him a great friend and always ready to help anyone in need. He shared jokes with his friends, and had a wonderful sense of humor.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the American Heart Association, Covenant Presbyterian Church of College Station, or charity of your choice.
A Visitation will take place Thursday, September 26, 2019 at 9:00 am followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 10 am at Covenant Presbyterian Church of College Station, 220 Rock Prairie Road, College Station, TX 77845.
