On February 27, 2022 at 11:00 P.M. Vickie Vaughn Patranella stepped from this earth into the arms of Jesus. Vickie was born December 22, 1951 and grew up in Bryan, Texas where she attended Stephen F. Austin High School. There she met Anthony Patranella and on June 17, 1972, Anthony married his high school sweetheart. In 2014, Vickie retired from Katy ISD after 30 plus years of service. Her father C.T. Vaughn; and her mother Virginia Vaughn Saunders precede Vickie in death. She leaves behind her husband of 49 years, Anthony Patranella, her two children, Steven Patranella and his wife Katie; her daughter Pamela Patranella and her fiancé James Conner; five beautiful grandchildren, Megan, Lauren, Paige, Jaxson, and Kristen. Her brother John Vaughn and his wife Pat; along with many nieces and nephews, also survive her.
How does one describe the amazing human being that was Vickie Patranella? She was unassuming, yet filled the room without being aware she was doing so. She needed no recognition, but was happy to be with the people she loved. She was always the peacemaker, gently interjecting her words of wisdom into a situation to bring peace. “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God”, Matt 5:9. God’s Word says laughter is good medicine, and Vickie was indeed good medicine. How completely blessed are those loved by Vickie. She demonstrated unconditional love in everything she did, such an amazing gift. Vickie’s absolute greatest joy in this life was giving to her children and grandchildren. May they always feel her heart surrounding them in love.
