Susan Ann Sanders, of Iola, Texas, passed away on August 20, 2021. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 24, 2021, from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M., at Hillier Funeral Home of College Station.
Susan (or Sue, as we knew her) was born on August 14, 1950, to Anthony and Patricia DiDonato. She was able to travel the world at a young age, moving from Olean, New York to Brussels, Belgium, and then attended school in London, England. Her love for traveling was fulfilled with her job as a reservation agent for United Airlines. She enjoyed taking trips to New York to see her family, and always looked forward to traveling to seeing Jenni in Belgium.
Sue had a love for animals. She was awarded ribbons for showing her llamas. Llamas, horses, dogs, cats, chickens, and peacocks were her favorite animals to raise. Her animals and pets were important to her. She was known to collect stray animals and offered them a comfortable home. Susan had many hobbies, she enjoyed needlepoint and cross stich, cooking, and was very artistic and creative.
Sue had a contagious laugh and a voice meant for radio and film. She used it to give others strength when needed or to give compassion and warmth to others. She was always we thoughtful and welcoming.
Sue will be greatly missed by her loving husband Dennis Sanders; her beautiful daughter Ashley Sanders; her granddaughter Kendra Applegate; her siblings John DiDonato and his wife Sherry DiDonato, Dan DiDonato and husband Mitch Rainey, and Terry DiDonato and husband Troy Bush- DiDonato; and many friends.
On August 20, 2021, Sue was reunited in heaven with her loving parents, Patricia and Anthony DiDonato, grandparents, and friends Jenni from Brussels; and Sylvia from Olean. She will live in our hearts forever! Please celebrate Sue's life in a way that Sue would have enjoyed - with fun, love, joy, and persistence.
