Sherry “YaYa” Cochran has “fought the good fight and finished the race.” After a long battle with cancer and ongoing illnesses, Sherry died on Saturday, March 18th.
Sherry was born at Ft. Bragg in North Carolina on October 1, 1951. The family was relocated to Buffalo, New York where she lived until 1963. Sherry and her brother, Darrel, moved to Texas to live with their grandmother. Sherry graduated high school in 1969. She worked for GTE and Verizon for 31 years in multiple capacities.
Sherry was one of a kind! Unique. Devoted. Generous. Compassionate. She is best known for her spunky disposition, telling it how she sees it, beautiful tattoos, and her love for her family and friends.
Sherry will be missed by many, especially her husband, Dave; children, JD Cochran and wife Alejandra, Ernie Cochran and wife Andrea; grandchildren, Zachary, Kennedy, Reagan, and Matthew Cochran; and multiple in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
