Sharon Menn, beloved wife, mother, and lifelong resident of College Station, TX, passed peacefully on August 18, 2023 at the age of 77 in Bedford, TX, surrounded by her beloved family.
Sharon was born in College Station on November 26, 1946 to Tom and Azaleen Covey. She attended Sam Houston State University and graduated from Baylor University in 1969 with a Bachelor of Science, and made a career as a medical lab technician. On May 31,1969, she married Ronny Menn, a high school teacher and football/baseball coach whom she had loved since she was 18 when they met at Sam Houston State University. Over the next several years, they lived in San Antonio, Pasadena, Beaumont, and Pittsburg, TX before finally resettling back in College Station. During that time, she brought three wonderful sons into the world; they were the most important part of her life.
Sharon was a devoted mother and friend. Her favorite thing was spending time with her family and friends, and she loved having everyone gathered around the table sharing stories and laughter. To know her was to love her. She was always there for the people in her life with gracious love and a kind word, taking care of everyone she knew. She was a spiritual woman with a strong faith in God and a servant’s heart. Sharon will be deeply missed by her friends, family, and all who knew her.
Sharon is predeceased by her parents, Tom and Azaleen Covey.
She is survived by her husband, Ronald Menn; her children, Lance and wife Sarah, Cullen and wife Chelsea, and Parker Menn; her grandchildren, Jake and Casen Menn; and her sister, Sondra Weaver.
