Sandy Rios

Sandra R (Sandy) Rios was born November 5, 1957 to Herminio Rios-Luna and Leonor Rosado-Rios at Ft Benning, Georgia. She went home to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 13, 2019 in College Station, Texas at the age of 62 years and one month.

Sandy was survived by her mother, Leonor Rosado-Rios, her brothers and sisters; Herman Rios and his wife Gwen of MacClenny, Florida; Willie Rios and his wife Mary of Boulder, Colorado; Alba Murphy and her husband David of Bryan, Texas; Carmen Rios-Colon of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; Miriam Paneque and her husband Grato of Miami, Florida; and Ben Rios of Bryan, Texas. She is also survived by the joy of her life, her many nieces and nephews and extended family. Sandra was preceded in death by her father, Herminio Rios-Luna.

Sandy enjoyed life, she loved her family and delighted in showing them her love. She loved taking photos (there were never too many), baking cookies for every occasion, dressing up for special occasions (she was famous for her hats) and always bringing joy with her infectious laugher. She loved the title of "Ant Sandy" (displayed on her car tags) because she was the world's best aunt to her nephews and nieces. The words that best describe Sandy are love, joy and unselfishness.

Sandy faced many challenges in life including mental illness and health problems but none of them dampened her enthusiasm for life. She completed her associate's degree from Blinn College and taught us all never to doubt her intelligence. She served her father as his church secretary for years and taught preschool children in Sunday School. She was a good and faithful daughter and companion to her mother throughout her life. There is no doubt the Good Lord said "Well done my good and faithful servant" when she left this world to be home with him.

A visitation will be held from 5-8 pm on Thursday, December 19, 2019 at Hillier Funeral Home of BRYAN. Funeral services will be held on Friday December 20, 2019 at Calvary Baptist Church in Bryan Texas at 2 pm.
