Sallie M. (Calvin) Gibson, age 93, of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the Sheridan of Bryan.  Sallie was born October 23, 1913 in Burleson County to DeWitt and Doxie Nix Calvin.

Sallie was a lifelong resident of the area and enjoyed sewing, playing bridge and traveling.  For many years she volunteered at the First Presbyterian Church of Bryan and as a “Pink Lady” at St. Joseph Hospital.  She was also a member of the Gold Medallion Club.  Following over 30 years of service, she retired from the Large Animal Clinic at Texas A&M University.

Sallie was preceded in death by her parents;  her husband H.C. Gibson; four brothers Clint, Robert, John D. and James R. “Pete” Calvin and one niece Sherry Lou Calvin.

Survivors include a sister Mary Lucille Calvin Kluge of Huntsville; sister-in-law Myrtle Calvin of Caldwell; nieces and nephews Suzette Smith, Barry Dean Kluge, Rae Jean Kilpatrick, Linda Ramirez, Kenneth Calvin, John Nelson Calvin, Cecil Calvin, Sandra Calvin and numerous others.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:30am Friday, December 8, 2006 at Hillier Funeral Home with Reverend Geary McManus officiating.  Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 4-7pm Thursday and from 9-10:30am Friday at the funeral home.

In memory of her family, memorials may be made to the Providence Baptist Church, Caldwell, Texas.
