Rosalie Haisler, 102, of Bryan, Texas, has passed from this earthly world into the hands of her loving God on July 15, 2022.
Rosalie was born at home on the farm in Caldwell, Texas. She and her 12 brothers and sisters grew up helping their parents in the field and with farm chores. Her mother taught her to sew, cook, garden, love flowers, and scrub clothes on the washboard. Her father was born on this same family farm and played the fiddle and worked very hard. Rosalie learned from her parents that God was loving and forgiving, but mom was really strict about religion and her children learned to pray the rosary and minded their parents or were punished.
Rosalie married Emil in 1943 and after her children were born, she learned to drive at the young age of 40. She never lost her love of gardening and planting flowers, but also loved to do all kinds of crafts, especially quilting, painting, and puzzles. She loved to play board games and word puzzles. She especially enjoyed the holidays when all the family was together and played games.
Rosalie is preceded in death by her husband, Emil R. Haisler; parents, Robert J. and Annie Beran Pivonka; and six brothers and four sisters.
Rosalie is survived by four children, Robert Haisler, Diana Miller, Peggy Haisler, and Carol Goldsmith; grandchildren, Tiffany, Phillip, Maggie, Jimmy, Whitney, Shannon, Brandon, and Chelsea; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lela Pivonka and Dorothy Fuller.
