Our darling Romeo Sebastian Garcia was called home to be with our Lord and Savior on August 15, 2023 at the young age of 22 months.
At only 9 months old, he was diagnosed with Infant ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia). The majority of Romeo's life journey was spent at Texas Children's Hospital where he received the best therapy and treatments in hopes for a cure. There he enjoyed adventurous wagon rides, going for walks, building blocks, reading books, especially Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See, watching movies such as Marmaduke and Sing, singing and dancing along to his favorite songs, exploring the many fish tanks and train display, special family visits, many face times, and comforting massages. Through this time, his captivating resilience inspired and impacted the hearts and hands of his doctors, nurses, and entire medical team who specialized in his care.
When at home, his spirit was visibly lifted to be surrounded by his siblings and family. From tough play boxing with his brother, uncles, and cousins to soft snuggles with his sisters and tias, quality time with his popo including Spanish jam sessions, the unexplainable bond he shared with his Grammy who showered him with unconditional love, prayer, and adoration, and getting a kick out of his daddy making silly monkey sounds. But most of all, there is no other place he would rather be than in his mommy's arms.
Romeo was the light of our life. He was the strongest little guy, so full of courage, our "Baby Thor" as we would call him. The precious moments of his short life will remain in our hearts always and his legacy will be honored through us forever and ever. Amen.
A special thank you to our care family at Texas Children's Hospital, Hillier Funeral Home for their gentle touch and assurance, and to everyone for their support through it all.
