Robert Dewitt Self,  Jr.

Robert Dewitt Self, Jr. was born in Anacoco, Louisiana to Robert Dewitt Self, Sr. and
Ludie Ferguson Self, on March 16, 1920.  He passed away on November 4, 2006 in Bryan, Texas at the St. Joseph Regional Health Center at the age of 86.

He enlisted in the Air Force on January 8, 1940 and served in Egypt and the Middle East after the war.  He then worked Civil Service with the Air Force until his retirement in 1970.  He also served as the Quality Control Inspector for the Department of Defense.

He is survived by his loving wife Helen Brown Self of Bryan, step-daughter; Peggy Ross of Bryan, Sister; Della Mae Thompson of Shreveport, Louisiana and One Step-Granddaughter; Alexandra Wolff; 5 Nieces and Nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-3pm at Hillier Funeral Home with Service following at 3:00pm at the funeral home with Msgr. John McCaffrey officiating.  Graveside Services will be held on Thursday in Vernon Parish, Louisiana at the Beech Grove Cemetery.
