Robert Edward Maly

August 9, 1958 — April 10, 2024

Bryan

Robert Edward Maly, fondly known as Bobby, peacefully passed away at home surrounded by loved ones on April 10, 2024, at the age of 65. Bobby was born to Clarence (Bob) and Rosie Maly on August 9, 1958, in Bryan, Texas. He grew up in Smetana, Texas, with his parents and two sisters, Barbara and Debbie. Bobby attended Bryan High School and graduated in 1977.

It was during his high school years that Bobby met his beloved Nancy at the Kurten Community Center. Their love story began when he worked up the courage to ask her to dance. They quickly became inseparable and exchanged vows on April 26, 1980, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, followed by a reception at the Knights of Columbus Hall. During their marriage, Bobby and Nancy were blessed with two children, son Brandon and daughter Lindsey. Their union lasted nearly 40 years until Nancy's passing in 2018.

For 31 years, Bobby dedicated himself to his work as a car mechanic at Bossier Dodge, later bought out by Lithia, where his expertise and dedication were highly respected. He was known for making challenging repairs appear effortless. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Bobby found joy in spending time with his family, tinkering in his garage, grilling, cheering on Texas A&M football, and collecting coins. However, his most cherished role was being a grandpa, and he was affectionately known as "B Pop" to his three grandsons, Cooper, Owen, and Broderick.

In 2019, Bobby found love again with his current wife, Julie. The family is deeply appreciative of Julie, who brought happiness into Bobby's life and was there for him during his health challenges with unwavering care and kindness.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Julie Maly; his son and daughter-in-law, Brandon and Lindsey Maly; his daughter and son-in-law, Lindsey and Andrew Veerman; his grandsons, Cooper Maly, Broderick Veerman, and Owen Veerman; his mother, Rosie Maly; his sister, Barbara Pratt, and husband Paul; his sister, Debbie Brooner, and husband Omer; his faithful dogs, Levi and Pearl, and numerous extended family members. The family finds comfort knowing Bobby is no longer in pain and has been reunited in Heaven with Nancy and his dad, Bob.
