Rebecca Zavala

Rebecca Zavala, age 22, of Bryan, Texas, known as a loving, kindhearted, funny, happy, and safe place to many, tragically passed away on February 25, 2024.  She was born on January 11, 2002, in Bryan, Texas to Juan Manuel Zavala and Eduviges Margarita Garcia Sauceda. 

Becca was a happy, healthy, kind, beautiful and ambitious 22-year-old with a large circle of family and friends.  She always put her family, friends, and others first.  She was a rock to so many and a bright light wherever she was.  She will always be remembered for her smile, laugh and the instant joy she provided to everyone.  She loved to hang out with her family and friends and was known to just go with the flow.  She was extremely competitive in sports and especially loved the little things she was able to do with both her mother and father.  If you knew her, you know she loved to collect Nike Jordans and loved to build Legos and cars, but her extreme talent was writing, especially poems.  

She was working hard to get her GED and her goal was to become a chiropractor.  

She is survived by her wife, Brianna Torres; her father Juan Manuel Zavala and stepmother Maria Elizabeth Zavala; her mother Eduviges Margarita Garcia Sauceda and stepfather Vincent Sauceda; her siblings, Jay, LiLia, Juan Jose, Mia and Annabelle; as well as her grandparents Jose and Maria Lilia Zavala, aunts, uncles, numerous cousins and friends.  

She was preceded in death by her cousins, Sergio and Emmanuel Flores. 

Rebecca was an amazing daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece, cousin, friend, and an overall extraordinary person.  To know Becca was to love her and she will be deeply missed for all the time to come.
