Pedro Ochoa Rubio, Jr., age 61 of Bryan, passed away Wednesday, March 14, 2007 at his residence.  Pedro was born March 18, 1945 in Sebastian, Texas to Pedro and Juanita Ochoa Rubio.

Pedro moved to Bryan in 1981 and worked as a Landscaper in the Physical Plant for Texas A&M University.   He was active in the Calvary Baptist Church and a member of the church financial committee.  He loved motorcycles and being around his family.   Pedro was also a great  handyman!  He didn’t mind telling anyone, “What man invented, I can fix!”  and he did so, having only two fingers on one hand as a result of a gun accident years ago.   He will be remembered as a peace maker and good man.

Survivors include his wife Lupe Garcia Rubio, 2 sons and daughters-in-law Celestino & Rosalinda Rubio and Agustin & Andrea Rubio all of Bryan; 2 daughters and son-in-law Veronica & Angel Pantoja of Bryan and Patricia Ybarra & fiancé C.J. Sims of College Station; 1 brother Seferino & Maria Rubio of San Antonio; 3 sisters Maria de los Angeles  Rubio and Anita Spain  both of Sebastian, Texas and Maria de Jesus Rubio of Monterrey, N.L. Mexico; mother Juanita Ochoa Rubio of Sebastian, Texas; 3 brothers-in-law Victor & Orfa Garcia of Miami, Fl., Hector Garcia of Bryan and Antonio, Jr. & Anita Garcia of Florida City, FL; 4 sisters-in-law Maria & Arturo Delgado of Bryan, Eulalia & Bernardo Serna of Hearne, Rosa & Florentino Lopez, Jr. of Lyford, Tx and San Juanita & Manuel Berrones of Sebring, FL; and six grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 11am Saturday, March 17, at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend David Murphy officiating.  Interment will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 5-7pm Friday at Hillier Funeral Home and from 10-11am Saturday at the church.  A Prayer service will be held at 6pm Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
