Nora Dean (Davis) Baxter, 88, passed away on Tuesday morning, January 10, 2023, to be with her Lord and Savior.
Dean was born in Bald Prairie, TX on September 10, 1934, to Louis “Pap” and Nannie (McCrary) Davis in Robertson, County, one of seven children.
She attended Franklin High School and worked at Duffey Drug Company. After graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Thomas Baxter, on July 20, 1953, and shortly after they moved to Michigan. After returning to Texas few years later, she went on to work at Sanitary Farm Dairies, Bryan Hospital and Clinic, and the Texas A&M Bookstore as retail manager and buyer, where she worked for over 20 years.
After retiring, she volunteered with the Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels. She was an active member at First Baptist Church of Bryan and the Eunice Sunday school class, where she loved worshiping and fellowshipping with her many friends. Dean enjoyed spending time with her family and never missed a school function or sporting event for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading and shopping. She was a beautiful person inside and out.
Dean is preceded in death by her parents, Louis “Pap” and Nannie (McCrary) Davis; husband, Thomas Lamar Baxter; daughter, Nicole Baxter White; sister, Stella (Davis) Brantner and husband Johnny; sister Nelda (Davis) Riley and husband Buddy; sister Agnes Faye (Davis) Pruitt and husband Bud Pruitt; brother, James Davis; and nephew Danny Davis.
She is survived by her siblings and loving children: brother, Richard Davis and wife Rosie; brother Ray Davis and wife Margaret; son, Gregory Baxter and wife Cindy; granddaughter, Autumn Biggers and husband Keith; granddaughter Abigail Wyatt and husband Tyler; grandson Brady White; and great grandchildren Emily and Avery Biggers, Lyle and Porter Wyatt, and Waylon and Ruby White. She cherished every member of her family, including all her numerous nieces and nephews.
