Monty P. Hebert, age 72, of College Station, Texas, passed from this world on July 20, 2022.
Monty was born October 31, 1949, to Rivers Armond and Rose Belle Hebert of New Iberia, Louisiana. One of four children, he grew up on his grandpa’s sugar cane farm where he loved to fish and eat the crunchy tail of the pan fish. Monty loved Louisiana so much that he raised all five of his children there. He was very proud of all his children and would boast to others about all their accomplishments; he loved being a dad and was a great one!
A very sociable and loving charmer, Monty always left an impression on people. He was a cowboy at heart and had seven horses and two cows at one point. He loved baseball (his favorite sport), football, golf, ghost stories, Bigfoot shows, and dancing. Dancing, however, is where Monty’s charm shined! He could light up the room with a great smile and his handsome looks; his children jokingly say that is how he ended up with five kids! He worked for a chemical plant most of his career, later became a car salesman, and finally retiring. Special lessons Monty taught his children were to live in the moment, love a lot, be respectful to others, and of course - dance any chance you get! He was and still is a much loved man!
Monty was preceded in death by his parents, Rivers and Rose Hebert, and his brother, Chris Hebert.
Monty is survived by his children, Kelly Hebert and wife Kim, Nichol Hebert and husband Michael Santana, Travis Hebert and wife Amanda, Kelsey Hebert, and Kali Hebert; grandchildren, Austin Hebert, Madeline Gill, Bailey Hebert, Deegan Hebert, Hayden Hebert, Hensley Hebert, and Caleb Santana; and two siblings, Steven Hebert and Denise Hebert.
