Monty Joe Guy, 50, of Bryan went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, July 12, 2008, in Rockport, Texas, doing what he cherished most in the world – spending unforgettable time with his wife and children, whom he loved. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Hillier Funeral Home. Funeral services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bryan City Cemetery.
Monty will forever be remembered for his love of music. He loved playing gospel music and he toured with Sounds of Salvation at a young age. Some of Monty’s most cherished times were spent singing in the a cappella choir, playing drums and singing country music with close friends and playing with his grandchildren.
He loved watching his stepson Tooter rope in the rodeo circuit. Monty had a special knack with people. His ability to be helpful, knowledgeable and give fair, honest service to his customers was very important to him. He worked for several automobile dealerships, most recently for Varsity Ford as service advisor.
Monty was preceded in death by his grandparents, Albert Guy and C.O. and Susie Deel.
Survivors include his wife, Maria; stepsons, Boedy Martinsen of Bryan, T.C.
