Mitzi Pool Bridges, 92, of College Station, Texas, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Wednesday March 15, 2023.
Mitzi was the oldest child born to B.F. “Buck” and Mary Theresa Valentina Stanfield Pool on August 13, 1930 in Houston, Texas. She graduated from Incarnate Word Academy in 1948. Mitzi had many achievements throughout her life, but one that she was most proud of was forming MAC Mechanical Plumbing Co in Houston with her husband, Charley. They later turned the company over to their sons, Ken and Charley III to retire and travel. Together they visited much of this beautiful country we live in, and enjoyed trips to England, France, Germany, the Netherlands, and Switzerland. Mitzi enjoyed reading, writing, cooking, and baking. Every year she spent months baking cookies for her children and grandchildren to enjoy at Christmas, and has passed her love of baking on to her beloved granddaughters.
Mitzi was a member of many groups, including: William Scott chapter of Daughters of the American Revolution, L.S. Ross Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Stephen William chapter of U.S.D. 1812, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Bryan/College Station Newcomers and was a loyal member of their book club, Texas Authors, Brazos Writers of Bryan/College Station, Fourth Friday Club, and enjoyed her get-togethers with the birthday group, widows group, and Leo Ladies Birthday Group. After her retirement, Mitzi wrote twenty-three novels.
Mitzi was an entrepreneur, published author, and a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great grandmother to her five children, twenty grandchildren, and twenty-five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charley Bridges. Her parents, her sister, Mary Lou Leibham, her stepson Doyle Ray Bridges, and her grandson, William Bridges Jr (B.J.).
Mitzi is survived by her children Ronnie Schneider (Tammy) of Willis, Texas, Peggy Schneider of Spring, Texas, Rick Schneider (Karen) of Temecula, California, Cheryl Schneider Trujillo (Bill) of Royse City, Texas, and Ken Schneider (Karen) of Cypress, Texas, Charley D. Bridges III of Houston, Texas, and Bill Bridges (Selma) of Houston, Texas.
She is survived by twenty grandchildren: Jason Schneider, Chris Parker, Melissa Schneider, Blake Schneider, Brian Schneider, Andrew Krolczyk, Chris Schneider, Jennifer Krolczyk, Cody Schneider, Courtnie Schneider, Jessica Schneider, Michael Krolczyk, Tate Schneider, Taylor Nelson, Tyler Schneider, Jacqueline Schneider, Jillian Schneider, Sarah Bridges Pietrowski, Charley D. Bridges IV, and Rachel Bridges.
She is also survived by twenty-five great grandchildren: Preston Ojeda, Paige Ojeda, Peyton Ojeda, Branson Schneider, Mason Schneider, Zayn Schneider, Evan Dixon, Gianni Bagneris, Tripp Nelson, Payton Schneider, Enzo Schneider, Reese Schneider, Tristan Schneider, Brynn Schneider, Austin Parker, William Parker, Ava Richardson, Amanda Krolczyk, Ella Krolczyk, Jackson Vanover, Vivianne Pietrowski, Blake Bridges, Emersyn Bridges, Grayson Bridges, and Isabella Bridges.
She is also survived by her brothers, Robert Pool and wife Mary of Spring and Vernon “Bubba” Pool and wife Linda of Huntsville, and sister Laura Pool Hurst of College Station, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
