Michael G. Stratta

Michael G. Stratta was born on October 12, 1961, in Robertson County, Texas to Joe Anthony and Anna Stratta. He was active in sports and played on the football, basketball, and baseball teams in high school. Mike graduated from Hearne High School in 1980, after which he joined his father in working on the family farm. He later went into business with his brother David, doing farming and custom harvesting work. He married Marantha Wise in September 1991 and the couple soon moved to Bryan, TX, where he and Marantha raised their son, Lane. Mike lived in the home that they shared until he passed away on May 6, 2024.

Mike was an active member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Bryan, Texas. He took his religious beliefs very seriously and did his best to live out his faith and be a good role model for his son. He loved the land and was a life-long cotton and grain farmer in the Brazos Bottom. He was a hard-worker and did his best to provide a good life for his wife and son.

Although he loved being outdoors and working the soil, nothing gave Mike greater joy than spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband and father. In his free time, he enjoyed hanging out with his family and dog, watching movies, cheering on the Texas Longhorns, going to car shows with his brother Anthony, and eating his mother’s cooking. Mike loved a good meal—especially pizza and anything chocolate.

Mike was preceded in death by his wife Marantha (Wise) Stratta and his father Joe Anthony Stratta. He is survived by his son Lane Stratta and wife Brooklynn of Bryan, his mother, Anna (Marino) Stratta of Hearne, his brothers Anthony Stratta and wife Connie of Elliott, and David Stratta and wife Wendi of Hearne.
