Meryl Preston Hunter Jr.

Meryl was born on October 30, 1953, in Houston, Texas, to his parents, Geraldine L. Mitchell and Meryl P. Hunter Sr.

He attended Sam Houston University and was an electrician by trade. His passion was racing; Drag, Nascar, Dirt, Go-cart, or even a good foot race once in a while!

Meryl is preceded in his passing by mother, Geraldine L Mitchell of Minneapolis; father, Meryl P. Hunter Sr. of Iola; Aunt Maggie Hunter Hart of Cross; and step-son, Nick Abbott III of Cross.

He is survived by a son, Dale Preston Hunter; granddaughter, Chloe Jean Hunter of College Station; step-daughter and husband, Monica and Dale Sheppard of Cross; 9 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and Sissy Hunter. He is also survived by his sisters, Sharon L. Hill of Austin, and Carol Jean Moore of Waco.
