Mateo Eguia Ramirez, 42, of Bryan, Texas, passed away on January 11, 2021.
A visitation will be held from 5-8 pm, with a Rosary to begin at 6:30 pm, on Tuesday, January 19th, at Hillier of BRYAN.
Mateo, a joyful and friendly man, was born on September 21, 1978. Mateo grew up in Ahuehuehu Huauha Hidalgo, Mexico with his five siblings, Maximiliano, Josefina, Miguel, Alicia, and Macario. As a young boy, he would enjoy going to the river to swim and fish with his siblings. He also loved to play soccer, and collected many trophies from his years of playing soccer. After graduating high school, Mateo began his career in construction. He installed flooring and worked very hard in his job. He was known for his hard work, and didn't mind the tough labor.
Mateo married the love of his life, his amor, Miriam Luna Jimenez. They had four children together, Marlene, Danna, Isabel, and Leslie. As a father, Mateo was dedicated and determined. He wanted his kids to grow up with anything and everything they needed. He worked hard to provide for his wife and children, and loved watching them all grow up. He was so proud of each of them, and each of them brought so much joy to his life for different reasons. He always taught them to motivate themselves, and push to be a better person, always.
Mateo enjoyed fishing, playing soccer, and watching sports. He also loved being able to hang out with his friends. Mateo was always friendly with anyone, and made friends with everyone he met! He had an incredible sense of humor, always making everyone around him laugh. Mateo was always so comical; you always had such a good time whenever you were around him!
Mateo's memory will live on by his wife, Miriam Luna Jimenez; children, Marlene Eguia Luna, Danna Paola Eguia Luna, Isabel Eguia Luna, Leslie Guadelupe Eguia Luna; his mother, Maria Isabel Ramirez; and his siblings, Josefina Eguia Ramirez, Miguel Eguia Ramirez, Alicia Eguia Ramirez, and Macario Eguia Ramirez.
Mateo will be reunited with his father, Jose Manuel Eguia, and brother, Maximiliano Eguia Ramirez.
