Mary Nicholas

Mary Elizabeth McLaughlin Nicholas, 80, of Bryan passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2008.
Mary was born on September 16, 1927, in San Angelo, Texas, to Guy and Nellie Mae McLaughlin. Her education included an associate degree in journalism from San Angelo College in 1945. She was an accomplished pianist.
She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend. Mary’s love of God was evident in all of her actions – from her always-kind words to her endless love for her family and friends. She had a fabulous sense of humor and loved to laugh, as is obvious in any photograph taken of her. She loved to travel, even after many years of moving across the country and back for her husband’s military career.
Mary was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Bryan Women’s Club.
Survivors include her husband, Donald R. Nicholas; daughter, Jacquelyn Duplantis of San Antonio; three sons and daughters-in-law, Kirk and Risa Nicholas of Potomac Falls, Va., Don and Virginia Nicholas of Stafford, Va., and Greg and Carol Nicholas of Dallas; eight grandchildren, Jennifer and husband, Derek, Alexandria, Sam, Alexandra, Matthew, Amanda, Sarah and Erin; and two great-grandchildren, Ainsley and Addison.
