Mary O. Cochran, age 85 of College Station, passed away Monday, January 1, 2007 in the Triumph Health Care Center in Tomball.  She was born July 5, 1921 in Shelbyville, Indiana to Chester A. and Aurilla Mae Becker Worland.

She received her BA in Mathematics from the Indiana University and her MA in Counseling and Guidance from Texas A&M University as one of the first female graduates.  Her passions were gardening, sewing, reading and being among family and friends.  She was a member of the A&M United Methodist Church and active in the Doers Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, Texas Ladies Aside, Westerners and the Women’s Republican Party.

Survivors include her husband Dr. Robert G. “Bob” Cochran of College Station;  son and daughter-in-law Dr. Glenn & Sallie Cochran of Caldwell; two grandchildren Clover Cochran of Caldwell and Bill Cochran and wife Sylvia also of Caldwell; and one great grandchild Samantha Cochran of Caldwell.

Funeral Services will be held at 2pm Friday, January 5, 2007 at A&M United Methodist Church with Reverend Kip Gilts officiating.  Interment will follow at College Station Cemetery.  Visitation will be held from 1-2pm Friday at the church.
