Marty Pennell

Marty Franklin Pennell, 50, of College Station, came up to bat January 26, 1972 and slid home April 12, 2022.

Marty was born in Post, Texas and grew up in San Angelo, Texas. After graduating Lakeview High School in 1990, he attended Tarleton State and played baseball as a pitcher and first baseman.

With his big personality and even bigger smile, Marty loved a good time. He loved being with family and friends. If you were Marty’s friend, you were a friend for life! He was a history buff, he loved to cook, play golf, and watch his brother, Jason, rope steers. Marty was very athletic and good at many sports but his true love was baseball, especially the New York Yankees.

Marty’s greatest days were the births of his daughter and his son, followed by a trip to New York to watch the Yankees play, of course.

Marty is survived by his children, Madelyn Claire Pennell and Mason Charles Pennell; parents, Johnny and Vickie Pennell; brother, Jason Pennell and sister-in-law, Stephanie Schulte Pennell; niece, Kristin Kaiser; nephew, Connor Kaiser; and his dog, Little Breezie.

Marty will forever be #10 in your program and #1 in your heart.
