Maria Mata

Maria Elena “Claudia” Mata, 29, of Bryan, passed away on Friday, January 4, 2008 at St. JosephRegionalHealthCenter after a short battle with Cancer.
Mass of Christian Burial: 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 7, 2008 at Santa Teresa Catholic Church; 1212 Lucky Street, Bryan, TX
Visitation will be held on Sunday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. for Maria.
Burial: Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Bryan, TX.
Maria was born in San Luis, Mexico to Alfonso Mata and Esther (Martinez) Mata.  One of eight children, they all grew up together.  Fourteen years ago, Maria came to Bryan where she lived with her sisters and mother.  Maria was a loving aunt, who enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews.  She was even considered their second mother.  Maria dedicated her life to them and her family, to her, family was everything.
Maria was preceded in death by her father: Alfonso Mata.Survivors: Mother: Esther Martinez; sisters: Severa Mata, Socorro Mata, Esther Guillen and husband Jose, Guadalupe Mata and Raquel Mata, all of Bryan; brothers: Juan Mata of North Carolina, and Jose O. Mata of Dallas; several nieces, nephews, and a host of extended family and friends
