Loretta Crompton

Loretta G. Crompton formerly of The Woodlands, Texas passed away peacefully on Sunday May 23, 2021 in College Station, Texas. Her memorial service will be held at Hillier Funeral Home of COLLEGE STATION, 4080 Texas 6 Frontage Road, College Station, Texas, 77845 on Wednesday, June 2, 2021, at 10:30 am.

Born December 7, 1941, in Lafayette, Louisiana, she was the youngest of three children. She grew up in Lake Charles, Louisiana, and graduated from McNeese State University with a degree in Home Economics. She used her education to teach elementary age children for over 30 years. Her devotion to teach each child and her desire to provide them a rounded education made her one of the best teachers in the Aldine Independent School District for over 20 years.

After retirement, she enjoyed spending time working with her hands - mostly making crochet blankets for her nieces and great and great-great nieces and nephews.

In early 1976 she met the love of her life Piers Crompton and they married later that year. They spent 45 years together as husband and wife. Together they traveled to several cities in the United States and raised their pets, which brought them tremendous joy and comfort.

Loretta is preceded in death by her parents Alfred and Marguerite Gauthier; brother, Ivan Gauthier.

She is survived by her devoted and loving husband, Piers Crompton; sister Marie Bayard, and loyal dog, Jenna. She also leaves behind nieces Colleen (Brad) Finch, Karen Bayard-Hon, and Cindy Hoover, along with great and great-great nieces and nephews. She will be missed by many friends.
