Lawrence Kucera, a beloved member of our community, passed away on September 6, 2023, in Bryan, Texas. He was born on August 1, 1948, in Rosenburg, Texas to Robert and Annie (Falticek) Kucera. His early years were shaped by his experiences growing up in Rosenburg and playing Little League baseball. Sadly, Larry lost both parents at a young age; however, he displayed remarkable strength and resilience as he navigated life on his own, eventually blossoming into the remarkable person we all knew and loved.
Larry graduated from Lamar High School in Rosenburg. One night, across the dance floor at the Son of Hermann Dance Hall, he laid eyes on Rose Antionette Emola. The rest is history. Larry and Rose shared an extraordinary love story that spanned 45 years.
Larry was a hardworking man, but he also knew how to relax and have a good time. He loved get-togethers and feeding the crowd with some homecooked barbecue. The combination of good food and cherished company made these gatherings truly memorable.
Larry always enjoyed a friendly game of dominoes or cards, but not nearly as much as he loved hunting and fishing. Give Larry a beer, a fresh fish dangling from his line, and a fry pan. The rest of the day would be your next best memory!
Larry was a dedicated member of the Son of Hermann. As we bid farewell to Larry Kucera, we honor his memory and celebrate the incredible impact he had on our lives.
In Heaven Larry will meet again his parents; ten sisters; one brother; and in-laws, Luke and Janie Emola.
His legacy will live on through his beloved wife, Rose Kucera; sister, Evelyn Duke; brother, Adolph Kucera; and numerous nieces and nephews.
