Ken Ayers

On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, Kenneth Gene Ayers passed away in Bryan, Texas, from complications during hip surgery, at the age of 60.

Kenneth was born on December 15, 1959 to "Sonny" Newman Ayers and Marlene (Gottstein) Ayers, in Chicago, Illinois, where he was raised along with his siblings, Russ, Dawn, Jimmy, David, and Mark. In addition to his siblings, friends and a large close-knit extended family, Ken leaves behind his son, Holden and his ex-wife Maureen.

Ken was a sweet and loving man, whose compassion and love for his friends and family was only rivaled by his passion for the Chicago Cubs. He was a life-time employee of FedEx, where he developed patience, hard work and a hatred for cold weather. Ken was a fantastic dog owner and could be seen daily walking his favorite companions, wearing cargo shorts in the dead of winter and listening to his AM radio sports talk shows at full volume, no matter the setting.

His heartwarming smile, understanding tone and unending music and sports trivia will be missed by his family, friends and scores of people he blessed with his presence.

A memorial service will be arranged by the family and held in Chicago at a date to be later announced when the social climate permits.
