John Stallone Jr., 91, of Bryan, passed away on Sunday, February 10, 2008 at St. Joseph Manor.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hillier Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Hillier Funeral Home Chapel with Monsignor John McCaffrey of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating.
Burial will follow the services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Bryan.
John was an avid fan of major league baseball and football. He was a first generation American; his parents emigrated from Campobello, Sicily (Italy) to the United States in the early 1900s.
John served his country with honor in the U.S. Army during World War II and Korea and then in peacetime, retiring after 20 years service at the rank of Sgt. Major, (E9).
John was preceded in death by his brothers Anthony, Dominic, Jasper, Joseph, and Nicola and by his parents John Stallone, Sr. and Antonia Stallone.
Survivors include: wife, Antonetta M. Stallone of Bryan; sons, John N. and wife Janet of Bryan, Robert M. and wife Patti, of Oxnard, CA; grandchildren, Adrienne Visher of Stow, OH and Nicholas Stallone of Kent,OH. The Stallone family wishes to recognize and gratefully thank the caregivers at St. Joseph's Manor and Hospice Brazos Valley for their compassionate and skillful care.
