John Albert Johnson, Sr.

May 24, 1941 — November 6, 2023

College Station, TX

John Albert “Johnny” Johnson, a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, was born in Carlisle, Texas in 1941. The baby of the family, he grew up with his four brothers (Willard, Clayton, Dutch, and Odis) and two sisters (Doris and Mick). He graduated from Trinity High School where he played all sports and excelled in football, playing side-by-side his brother, Odis, on the team.

He lived and worked in central Texas most of his life. As a young man, he worked as a lineman for the City of Hearne with his older brother, Willard. Later on, he had his own power line contracting company. He had a “make it work” attitude and could fix almost anything.

His heart was with his family and his favorite time was spent amongst his family. He loved kiddos and had a knack for taking care of them and making them feel special.

He is remembered as one who always had time for you, a kind man who would try to help just about anybody.

Now, absent from the body but face-to face with our Lord and in a place of no more sorrow, no more tears, no more pain, no more death. The old things have passed away.

We look forward to the time when we will be reunited with him in eternity.

John is survived by his wife, Sharon Johnson; his children, Denice Johnson, John Johnson and wife, Kelly, Brandee Brandt and husband, Michael, Kari Adams and husband, Matt, and their families; and his sister, Mick Walker and husband, Jim.

John was preceded in death by his parent, Charlie and Leola Johnson; brothers, Willard Johnson, Clayton Johnson, Robert “Dutch” Johnson, and Odis Johnson; and sister, Doris Reeves.
