Joe Marino

Joseph Marino passed away November 7, 2018 at the age 91.

Joe was born May 23, 1927 in Mumford in a settlement known as Steele’s Store to Frank and Rosie Marino. Growing up on the farm with his brother John and his sister Anna, Joe was always outdoors working with animals, and always had a horse. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin High School in Bryan, Joe served our country in the Army for four years.

Joe was a hard worker, always taking care of his family. He worked as a surveyor for the City of Bryan to be sure his children Debbie and Rhonda were well taken care of. He retired in 1987. Even though he was no longer working on the farm, Joe continued to love animals, especially horses, for the rest of his life.

Joe leaves behind his daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Mike Treinen of Bryan, his daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Joe Orsak of Bryan, and his grandchildren Brandi Reichert of Fort Worth, Sarah and Bear Reeves of California, Joey Orsak of Bryan, and Jonathan Orsak of Bryan.

To honor Joe’s life, his family has planned a visitation on Wednesday, November 14 at 12:30 at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan, followed immediately by his life celebration service, which will begin at 1:30, also at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan. Interment will be at Mt. Calvary Cemetery at 3:30. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Joe’s name to Grace Bible Church or Hospice Brazos Valley.
