Jerry Don Spikes

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jerry Spikes, who left us on April 23, 2023.  Born on February 9, 1949, Jerry was known for his warm spirit, unwavering dedication to his family and boundless generosity to those in need.

Jerry was an avid hunter, fisherman, and golfer and was very loyal to his Fightin’ Texas Aggies.  He was incredibly proud of his Aggie graduates.  

He is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Mary Katherine Spikes. 

Jerry will be profoundly missed by his children, wife, and all those who he raised and whose lives he touched.  Jerry leaves behind his loving wife Melissa; his children, Rebecca (Chris Church) and Cameron (Diane Spikes); his stepsons, Booky (Brooke) Goebel and Riley (Taylor) Rocha; 6 grandchildren who lovingly called him JPaw; his brothers, Jim and Rickey; his sisters, Sandy and Dolly; and many nieces and nephews.  A compassionate soul with an infectious smile, Jerry had an uncanny ability to uplift those around him, regardless of their circumstances.

Jerry's desire to do good in the world and his commitment to family will live on in the hearts and minds of those who had the privilege of calling him Dad, Pops, JPaw, JYD, husband, friend and mentor.  We will forever cherish the memories and the beautiful legacy that Jerry leaves behind.
