Jari had a contagious smile that brought joy to all around her. Jari was a humble and faithful servant for the Lord. She worked with Vacation Bible School and was active in the Women's Guild. She had a way of making children feel at ease and they always knew they had her support. She showed acts of love through church, Religious Education, 4H, and teaching.
While a young adult, Jari spent a summer as an exchange student in Guatemala. Upon moving back home, she obtained a Bachelor's of Science in Mathematics from Southeastern Louisiana University with a minor in Chemistry and History. She then came to Texas A&M to pursue a Master's degree. She also participated in a 4 year certification program given by the Diocese of Austin. Jari always expressed the importance of education to the younger generations and was always there to hold someone's hand when they needed help.
She met the love of her life while doing one of her favorite things: square dancing! Matthew and Jari enjoyed many years of dancing around the dance floor while falling more and more in love with every step they took.
In her later years, she became very active with Mensa and enjoyed going to various gatherings across the country to spend time with them. She served as a regional scholarship chairman and was the local contact person in Bryan/College Station for Central Texas Mensa.
Jari is survived by her loving husband Matthew Whiteacre; her children Monica Whiteacre, Sylvia and her husband Jerin Thenayan, Alicia and her husband Jon MacKay, John Paul Whiteacre, and Veronica Whiteacre; her grandchildren Jackson Thomas and John Raphael Thenayan; her siblings Chari Aguirre, Tari Oliver, Shawn Ringen, and Starlyn (Dusty) Anderson; and her furry friends Abbey, Wolfie, and Hela.
She was reunited in Heaven with her parents John and June McGee; and her precious children Claire and Francis Whiteacre who were miscarried.
"God bless you, God save you, God loves you, and so do I."
