Jannes Parulian

Jannes Parulian (Chang Yong Fuk), 88, a caring loving husband, dad, brother, grandpa, great grandpa passed into the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ peacefully on Thursday, September 28, surrounded by his loved ones.

Jannes was born on January 24, 1935, in Balige, North Sumatra, Indonesia. His parents were the late Thio Tjui Seng and Oei Tjin Hong. He married Anggerek Parulian (Ang Lian Kee) in 1960. They were happily married for 63 years and had 5 sons. His mechanical mind and love of motors was part of the catalyst behind his career in transportation and then later in business.

After retirement Jannes and his wife moved to College Station, TX to be close to their family. While living in College Station he enjoyed attending College Station Chinese Bible Church. He also enjoyed participating in all his family’s activities and was proud to be able to witness various weddings, births, graduations and other celebrations.

Jannes will always hold a legacy of standing up for what he believed in, even when it was against the grain, he was always very proud of his culture and taught his children and grandchildren to be the same through his example. He worked hard to ensure that his children would receive the quality education. His discipline was to be admired by all. He was always the core of the family, able to keep everyone connected across continents. Above all, he valued his faith in the Lord, constantly praying for his friends and loved ones.

Jannes is survived by his wife, Anggerek Parulian (Ang Lian Kee), his 5 sons, Oscar Parulian and wife, Swany Parulian, of College Station, TX, Johnny Parulian and wife, Novita Parulian of Auckland, NZ, Antony Parulian and wife, Lini Parulian of College Station, TX, Rudy Sutio and wife, Erfinna of Medan, Indonesia, Robert Parulian and wife Yanti Parulian of College Station, TX.

13 Grandchildren, Joshua Parulian and wife Joanne  Parulian , Daniel Parulian and wife, Pamela Parulian , Esther Valencia and husband, Emmanuel Valencia , Josephine Tremlett and husband, Charles Tremlett, Jessica Parulian, Jocelyn Parulian, Jeremy Parulian, Clarissa Johnson and husband, Chandler Johnson, Eugenie Sutio and husband, Adrian Tjokro, Michael Sutio Parulian, Ethan Sutio, Nathan Parulian and Allysa Parulian and 7 Great Grandchildren: Jubilee Parulian, Judah Parulian, Caleb Parulian, Benjamin Parulian, Elsie Tremlett, George Tremlett and Oliver Tremlett.
