Jacque Ann Miller Barnett, 57, of Bryan passed away on Monday, July 14, 2008. Services are set for 1 p.m. Thursday, July 17, at First United Methodist Church, located 506 E. 28th St. in Bryan. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Hillier Funeral Home.

Jacque was born on September 4, 1950, in Bryan to Adrian and Dorothy (Free) Miller. Jacque married Hugh C. Barnett on July 15, 1972. They would have been married for 36 years today, July 15, 2008. Jacque took care of her family until she started her educational career as a dedicated teacher at Stephen F. Austin Middle School in Sept. 1990, assistant principal of Sam Rayburn Middle School and principal of Crockett Elementary. She was nominated for the “Who’s Who” of educators on at least six different occasions. Jacque received her bachelor’s degree in August 1990 and master’s degree in May 2003, both from Texas A&M University.

She was a devoted wife, mother and especially grandmother “Gigi.” She was a former member of the Junior League of Bryan and a member of First United Methodist Church in Bryan.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Dorothy Miller.

Survivors include her husband, Hugh C. Barnett; daughter and son-in-law, Doug and Meredith Pennington; son and daughter-in-law, Adam and Arann Barnett; grandchildren, Paul, Landen, Ella Pennington and Madison Barnett; brother and sister-in-law, Cliff and Marsha Miller; and nephew, Matt Miller.
