“If love alone could have saved you, you would have lived forever”
Jacob Anthony Soto departed from us too soon at the young age of 20 years old on March 21, 2023.
Jacob was born on March 5, 2003, in College Station, TX. He was a proud and loving father, husband, son, brother, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend whose absence will deeply affect those who had the blessing of knowing and loving him.
As a little boy, Jacob loved to go fishing. At just five years old, he could hook and bait his own rod, cast his line, and reel in his fish. He was always determined to catch the biggest fish, or as they called it the “PAPPY” or even the “Grand PAPPY”.
Growing up, he enjoyed getting tools out and working on cars with his dad, playing football, spending time with his brothers and sister, and took his video games seriously!
Jacob grew into a very strong willed confident young man. His main priority was to take care of and look after his family as best as he could, and he took pride in doing so. He was never the type of man to give up on anything; if he set his mind to something, he was going to do it and get it done whatever the circumstances may be. Jacob was very talented in his craft. He could build or fix almost anything and worked hard at whatever he did. One of his best qualities was his infectious sense of humor. There wasn’t a time you were around him where he wouldn’t make you laugh or bring a smile to your face, or that he didn’t have a smile on his. He had a big heart that he wore on his sleeve and if he loved you, he looked out for you. He loved his family unconditionally and without reservation. Above all else, his wholehearted pride and joy was his son who he absolutely cherished and adored.
He is preceded in death by his grandmother Ophelia Rios; cousin Patrick Garcia; Uncle Paul Castillo of Bryan Texas; Uncle Johnny Castillo; and Aunt Betty Castillo.
He is survived by his wife Tori Saldivar and son Jerimiah Soto; father Jorge Soto Jr. and stepmother Christa Soto; mother Tiffany Bullock; mother in law Kristy Martinez; brothers, Jordan, Tyler, Christian, Kayden, and Collin; sister, Madison; paternal grandfather Jorge Soto; maternal grandparents Donna and Robert Bullock; aunts and uncles, Jessica Soto and husband Ben Garcia, Catherine Villalpando, Michael Villalpando and wife Amanda Villalpando, Armando Villalpando and partner Ken, Gloria Medina and husband Rudy, Peggy Rios, Benita Rios and partner Tony Miller, Benito Rios Jr. and wife Ruth, Patricia Tello and husband John, Kristi Atkinson, and Kayli Bullock; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He has sent me to tell those who mourn that the time of the Lord’s favor has come, and with it, the day of God’s anger against their enemies. Isaiah 61:2
