Hubert P. "Smittty" Smith

Hubert P. “Smitty” Smith, 95, passed away on July 20, 2023 in Bryan, Texas.

He was born on August 6, 1927 in Mermentau Cove, LA. He served in the US Army and graduated from the University of Houston. He was an accountant for Foster Lumber Company and a landman for Exxon Mobil USA.

He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, storytelling, and love for his family. He enjoyed genealogy research, coin collecting, and reading.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Armand and Emma Smith of Sulphur, LA; brothers, Renn, Donald and Huey; and sister, Ruby.

He is survived by five children and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Hubert asked that he be remembered for the laughter and stories he brought to others in life.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his honor to Hospice Brazos Valley.
