Hollis Dove Groves

d. October 4, 2022

College Station

Hollis Dove Groves was stillborn on October 4, 2022 at 8:44 am  at Baylor Scott and White Hospital in College Station, Texas to parents, Bryce and Hannah Groves. Our littlest Aggie weighed 4 pounds and 14 ounces and measured 19” long.

Though, we didn’t know it then, Hollis’ middle name Dove speaks to her legacy.  As David exclaimed “Oh, that I had wings like a dove, I would fly away and be at rest” Psalm 55:6. We are comforted because we know that true rest is with Jesus, and what a gift we have in eternal life.

Though she never spent time with us, she touched so many of our lives. The goodness of God has been evident in this difficult time through the support of family and friends, thoughtful care from hospital staff: specifically Dr. Candice Luedke, Juliet Baker, & Rachael Reynolds, and an outpouring of prayer and love from near and far. We find hope in the fact that Hollis Dove laid eyes on Jesus and is now perfect and complete in Heaven.

Family members that have gone before her are great-great grandparents, Sanford and Hollis Isham of Duncan, Oklahoma and J.C. and Clacille Cowan of Velma, Oklahoma; great-grandparents Jackie Richardson of Velma, Hardin and Evelyn Remley of Benbrook, Texas, and Reverend Billy James Reisor of Greenville, Texas.

Hollis Dove is survived by her parents, Bryce and Hannah Groves; grandparents Gary and Nancy Reisor of Fort Worth, Angela Cowan Groves of Fort Worth, and Barry Groves of Duncan; and great-grandparents Billy and Sharon Groves of Duncan, Wyndal and Marla Cowan of Velma, Nita Reisor of Greenville, and Clara Lockhart of Duncan. Hollis also has many aunts and uncles including Joel and Lindsey Ledbetter of Duncan,  Erika Groves of Fort Worth, Katie Reisor and Jared McCoy of Fort Worth, and Caden Reisor of Fort Worth. Hollis is also survived by her cousin crew Rylan, Ava, and Norah of Duncan and a host of others who will cherish her precious memory.
