Higinio Corral, 81, of Bryan, passed away on Saturday, May 7, 2022.
Higinio was born on January 20, 1941, in Durango, Mexico, to his parents, Emilio Corral and Silveria Corral Najera. At a young age, Higinio gained his western spirit learning how to ride horses at the age of 5 years old, and living and working on the ranch. He took care of the ranch’s sheep herd alone and was proud of his western ways.
Growing up, he moved to the United States, where he became a US citizen. The day he earned his citizenship was the one of the greatest days of his life. He was then lucky enough to meet the love of his life, Margaret, at a club in Houston, Texas. Higinio worked hard to provide for his family working at Brazos County Road and Bridges for many years. He always taught his family to work hard to accomplish what you want in life.
Higinio was a family man, hardworking, firm yet loving, and an amazing grandpa to his grandchildren. He enjoyed many trips going camping in his RV, going to Colorado, and visiting his family in Mexico. He never forgot his roots and where he came from, and would visit his family in Mexico as much as he could.
Camping, travelling, boxing, dancing, music, and spending time with his family were some of his favorite pastimes. He liked to dress to impress in his Western attire and loved to party! He enjoyed going to dances to see his favorite artists and music groups at the Fiesta Ballroom, Lulac, and Lakeview Club.
Higinio will be missed by his loving wife, Margaret Munoz Corral; six children and 3 step-children, Abelardo Corral, Sandra Corral, Isela Corral, Raul Corral and wife Mary, Silveria Corral, Andrea and husband Noe Torres, Rodney and wife Rosa Munoz, Anna Ruiz and husband John, Christina Acosta and husband Simon; grandchildren, Jose Gonzalez-Corral, Adrian Torres, Sebastian Torres, and numerous others; siblings, Pedro Corral, Gregorio Corral, Francisco Corral, Angela Corral, and Pascula Martinez-Corral.
