Harold "Buddy" Milton Stapper III, 54, of Madisonville, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 14, 2022.
A humble, loving, generous, yet stubborn man, Buddy stood on the Word of God and would give the shirt off his back to anyone in need. He believed that everything always worked out according to the Good of Christ.
Buddy grew up in Rockport, Texas. He absolutely loved spending Saturdays with his dad by having breakfast downtown and going fishing. He loved working on his truck and was a member of Herman & Sons. He met Linda Ann at C.C. Speedway; she borrowed his car to race in the Powder Puff and their eventual marriage was the greatest day of his life.
A man of few words, Buddy was known for saying “I’m not going to say another word!” and “Do you think your mother would approve of that?” Buddy loved spending time with family. He took his wife to Michigan to visit family, went camping very often, to the Alamo several times, and went with family to Fiesta Texas, Sea World, Schliterbahn, the Riverwalk, tubing, beach trips, race tracks, Magic Time Machine, and family reunions. He taught his kids how to drive and to never give up no matter how tough it gets!
Buddy also loved Jesus, working, and racing - whether he was watching or driving - and everything Earnhardt. He enjoyed welding and building cars, woodworking, tinkering with everything, and bowled on a league. He drove trucks for a living, did anything asked of him, operated a fireworks stand, and was a volunteer firefighter. He regularly donated to St. Jude Hospital and was a member of The Equipping Church in Bryan, Texas.
Buddy has been reunited in Heaven with his parents, Harold Stapper Jr. and Tommy Lou; daughter, Jenna Christine Kempf; brother, Thomas Tillman; and sister, Rebecca Biesiadecki.
Buddy’s survivors include his wife, Linda Ann Stapper; children, Nicole Taylor and husband Brian, Brandy Gomez, Michelle Vogler and husband J.J., Hope Grimes and husband Travis, Michael Dascher and spouse J.C., and Justin Harris and wife Kacie; grandchildren, Jenna Krueger, Melissa Krueger, Carley Vogler, Helios-Havoc Gomez, Djahna Lizzy Vogler, Taievyn Stapper, Haievyn Grimes, Cora Grimes, Raievyn Grimes, Grayson Dascher, and Lewis Jay Harris; siblings Joyce Spence and husband Steven, and Linda Jean Stapper; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews; and furry family members Junior Mint, Baby Girl and Pikachu.
The family would like to acknowledge all the people who supported their journey, but especially Brazos Paving Inc., The Equipping Church, the Musgrove family, the Jackson family, Mike and Diana Thompson, and the Rogerson family.
