Guillermo Lopez

Guillermo Lopez, a lifetime resident of Bryan, passed away Saturday, December 1, 2018 at the age of 24.

Guillermo was born June 18, 1994 at St. Joseph’s Hospital to Jose Luis Lopez and Leticia Hernandez Perez. One of six children, Guillermo grew up learning to love cars and trucks from his father, who was a body man. He loved taking them apart and putting them back together. He continued with this passion throughout high school, where he took advanced classes along with mechanics. He graduated from Mary Catherine Harris High School in 2012, and immediately was able to get a job doing what he loved to do. Guillermo was a mechanic at Varsity Ford (now College Station Ford) for four years and loved every minute of it.

Guillermo was very dedicated to his family, always worrying about his mother and grandmother. Family always came first for him, and he was never ashamed to tell his parents, “I love you mom and dad very much.” His brothers knew they could look to him for support and good advice. Guillermo’s family recently expanded when his girlfriend Olivia Saldivar gave birth to his son, Angel Valdemar Lopez. Guillermo was so excited when he found out he was going to be a father. He dearly loved his seven-month-old son and wanted to be the best person possible for him.

Guillermo was a very positive person who loved life. He was very hard working and could do anything he put his mind to. He was lucky to have a job that he enjoyed even when he wasn’t at work – he just loved working on cars. His job allowed him to have the big watches and jewelry he liked so much. It also helped him to enjoy going on a recent trip to Monterrey, Mexico with his girlfriend. He loved to watch the Texans play ball and really enjoyed eating all Mexican food! Guillermo was a member of Santa Teresa Catholic Church and was proud to be a godfather to two children.

Guillermo leaves behind his girlfriend Olivia Saldivar and their seven-month-old son Angel Valdemar Lopez. He is also deeply mourned by his mother Leticia Hernandez Perez, his father Jose Luis Lopez, his four brothers, his sister, his grandparents, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

To honor Guillermo’s life, his family has planned a visitation, which will be held from 5-8 pm with a Rosary to begin at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at Hillier Funeral Home of Bryan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, at Santa Teresa Catholic Church, with interment to follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
