Gloria Jane Junek

September 24, 1930 — April 11, 2024

College Station

Gloria Jane Junek of College Station, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 11, 2024, at the age of 93.

Affectionately known as Mom, Nanny, and Big Nanny, Jane was born in Houston, Texas, to Neville and Ona Loggins.  A devoted wife, she was married to her late husband, Cliff Junek, for 70 years. They met on a blind date at a Texaco company dance and were married August 31, 1952.  She was a loving mother to her children Linda, husband Bill Suter, and Sharon, husband Joe Klumpyan.  Jane held a special place in her heart for her four grandchildren, Greg Suter, of Farmington Hills, Michigan, Mark Suter of Tomball, Texas, Carrie (Klumpyan) McNicol of College Station, Texas and Kyle Klumpyan of College Station.  Further, she was blessed with nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.  Her love for them was boundless and she offered unwavering support and encouragement.  Her love will continue to inspire and guide them.

Jane’s life journey began in Houston, Texas.  Following high school graduation, she had various secretarial jobs before joining Texaco Oil.  After moving to College Station, she and Cliff both were employees of the Texas A&M Facility and Planning Division. She was a member of Newcomers Club of Bryan-College Station and formed many friendships.

Jane was a very talented woman and homemaker.  She loved to entertain and was the most elegant hostess.  She loved giving bunco, 42, and canasta parties with her friends.   Jane was a skilled seamstress.  Other hobbies included baking the best pies in town, creating flower arrangements, and crafting.  She especially enjoyed playing church hymns on the piano.

Jane and Cliff moved to College Station in 1980 and attended several churches in BCS and found their home at Christ Church.  She sang in the choir, took church attendance, and ushered.  She served God with her whole heart.  She made many friends in her bible study classes and cherished her sisters in Christ.

Jane’s family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the wonderful nurses at Enhabit Hospice.

Jane Junek will be profoundly missed by her family, and friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
