George “Buddy” Wesley Barringer, 76, left this world on June 1, 2022.
Buddy was a loving, giving, and a humble man who always took care of his family, but was passionate about helping anyone and everyone. He will always be remembered for saying, “Hey. I’m home.”
Growing up in Jacinto City, Buddy graduated high school and then the Police Academy. He loved watching western movies, the Outdoor Channel and the History Channel, hunting, fishing, and golfing. His passion was spending time with family, especially watching Tyler’s journey from T-Ball to the majors and Tatum’s journey into law enforcement. He was also proud of his grandson, Dalton, and his great-nephew, Zack, for their service to our country. He retired from Houston Police Department and as a private investigator from the Harris County DA’s office.
Buddy is preceded in death by his parents, George and Lillian Barringer, and his sister, Patricia Harris.
Buddy is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Sunny Barringer; children, Tamara Frieze and husband Kevin, Troy Barringer, Landon Roberts and wife Kelly, Amber Byrd and husband Scott, and Mandy Thompson and husband Eric. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jarek, Brock, Braden, Jaxton, Tatum, Tanner, Dalton, Dakota, Denver, Johnnie, Kenady, Cooper, Austin, Linsey, Chase, Cody, and Cale; and great-grandchildren Brayden, Shae, Aria, Genesis, and Fields.
