Gary Hutzler

Gary Robert Hutzler, 80, a long-time resident of Kyle, Texas and recently Hearne, Texas, passed away on July 26, 2021. Gary was the first baby born in San Antonio, Texas in 1941 on 1-1-41 just after midnight. He grew up in LaCoste, Texas where he was an exceptional student and athlete. He attended the University of Texas where he played football and Southwest Texas State University where he played baseball. He graduated with a BS in Education. He worked at the Hays Independent School District for 38 years as a teacher, coach, and Director of Maintenance. Gary was a leader in the community and was involved in many organizations in Kyle; He was a member of the Kyle Volunteer Fire Department for 40 years, was a city council member for 4 years, as well as the Kyle Mayor Pro Tem. Gary was well respected for his fairness and compassion with his family, in his job and in the community.
Gary was always friendly and dependable. He could repair just about anything and always had the right tools for every job. He was always there for anyone that needed help. He loved and cared for everyone he met, showing them respect and friendship. He knew everyone no matter how far from home he was. He always ran into friends on every trip and enjoyed visiting and catching up. He also loved getting together with his friends in Kyle.
Gary was married to the love of his life, Nancy Ann Hall Hutzler, for 57 wonderful years. He was most proud of the life they built together and his beautiful family. His favorite memories were the family trip to Disney land with his kids and grandchildren, swimming with manatees in Florida, hunting in Wimberley, elk hunting in Canada and of course, the annual family Christmases and poker games with extended family.
Gary will be deeply missed by his loving wife, Nancy Ann Hall Hutzler; his daughter Rene' Hutzler Mueller; his son John Wesley Hutzler and his wife Beth Rovinelli Hutzler; and his grandchildren Erica Lauren Mueller, Emily Rene' Hutzler, and Wesley Travis Hutzler.
He is reunited with his parents Welsey Nicholas Hutzler and Rachel Johanna Mangold Hutzler; and his daughter Monique Ann Hutzler Meischen.
